Apply for a Support Health Attestation

You can use this service to apply for a Support Health Attestation (SHA).

Important

Welcome to DAERA Support Health Attestation Online.

This is the Support Health Attestation (SHA) Application Message Board - important service delivery news and updates will appear here.

You are reminded that:

  • It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that a Support Health Attestation (SHA) has been issued by either DAERA or your nominated aPVP before your consignment is dispatched from NI.  Submission of an application is no guarantee that an export health certificate will be issued.
  • DAERA takes no responsibility for consignments exported without certification in place prior to departure.
  • Veterinary certification will not be issued retrospectively once your consignment has left NI.

The new SHA Online application system went live on 11 December 2025, and all applications must now be made using this service. Any applications made in the old system will still be processed to completion by DAERA staff.

Please note that DAERA Direct Armagh no longer processes SHA applicationsIf you previously selected that office, please select DAERA Direct Newry as your Certifying Office moving forward.

Having problems with this system?

When accessing the Support Health Attestation (SHA) Online application system, exporter users may encounter issues with the available functions.

Examples could range from being unable to upload a document or successfully apply for a SHA document to not receiving an email confirmation.

To allow DAERA to investigate and swiftly resolve any issues encountered, exporters should provide full details of the problem (including the system name, screenshots and any error messages) to their local DAERA Direct office.

Need information on how to apply?

You can access SHA related information, template documents, and Frequently Asked Questions by heading to the DAERA Website.

DAERA takes care to ensure that any personal information supplied to it is dealt with in a way which complies with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). To find out more, please read the DAERA Privacy Statement.
